I’ve just published a new digital project: a Google Map featuring 136 figures from Hungarian history, each placed at a location connected to their life â their birthplace, death, or historical significance.
đŒïž Each marker includes a portrait, dates, and a link to their English-language biography on my website. Note that not only can Hungarian people be found on it, and the list is still not complete.
Why does a map like this matter?
Because Hungarian history deserves to be seen, not just remembered in textbooks, but mapped, visualized, and made globally accessible.
We are:
đč Creating a global Hungarian presence â putting our historical memory on the worldâs map, where it would otherwise remain invisible.
đč Telling our story in our own voice â not waiting for others to define who we were.
This is history from below â without institutions, without grants, but with purpose.
đŹ Please share, comment, or send it to someone whoâd care. Letâs show the world who we were â and still are.
